It is often said that first impressions are lasting impressions. This is typically the unfourtunate truth. The first impression you might get when coming in contact with Aidelle is that she’s your average 8-year old American girl. She lives in the country, goes to a small rural school, and returns home each day to her mother, her father, and her brother. With this knowledge, it’s easy to assume that Aidelle will turn out just as the others in her generation.
Aidelle, however, was unaware of how the other children had it. She had no understanding that her life was different from that of her peers.
